We are an open community of musicians, singers and samba lovers who simply enjoy playing together. Some of us have been immersed in Brazilian music for years, while others are just discovering its magic. What brings us together is the joy of making music.
Whether you play an instrument, love to sing, or just want to sit and listen, you are welcome. No stage and no separate audience, just people sitting in a circle, sharing songs and rhythm, exactly as in Brazil.

What Roda de Samba actually is ?
Roda de Samba is one of many samba styles and one of the best known musical styles in Brazil. It spread across the country and grew into a whole range of other groups and styles. Its defining feature is the circle the participants gather in, known as a roda. Roda de Samba combines music, dance and poetry, and originated in the 17th century in the state of Bahia, in the Recôncavo region. It began as part of the folk culture of Brazilians of African descent, then spread with migrants to Rio de Janeiro, where it influenced the development of urban samba, which became a symbol of Brazilian national identity in the 20th century. In 2008 it was designated Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
